About Andy

                                                                      &nbs…

                                                                                                     Andy:  1949 - 2014

Andy Batchelor was a husband, father, grandfather and self motivated entrepreneur. He founded and owned his own business, Andy’s Auto Body of Alton, IL for more than 40 years. He retired from his passion in 2007 after many, many years of success.  Batchelor, a life long Cardinals fan, was born and raised in Alton, IL and is proud of his rural farm community roots. As a delinquent youth he became hooked on cars at age 15 and made it his life passion and work. But in his retirement he has returned to his love of the farm and began raising chickens and gardening produce, popcorn, and Christmas trees – for fun. He was a regular volunteer at local state historical sites in the area in addition to helping at the Sr. Center offering tax preparation for the elderly and he additionally donated much of his produce to the local crisis center to benefit those in need.

He and his high school sweetheart and wife of over 40 years, Nancy,  have two children who are married and have kids of their own.  He is a doting grandfather to 4 amazing grandchildren and loved to teach them the finer things about farming and cars. He himself was a man who never grew up and enjoyed being a life long kid and sharing his life through his stories of the past, present and some that had no meaning at all..

Andy passed on November 29, 2014 from congestive heart failure.  He is greatly missed by his family, his friends, and his community.
